Travelling by bus is a great way to see the countryside and Somerset's towns and villages. It is also a good alternative to the car for work, shopping and leisure trips.

Buses

Langport is served by three main bus services:

Service 38 Webberbus has now gone into liquidation and is no longer operating bus services through Langport. Principal services are now provided by Buses of Somerset which is a trading arm of First Group (see below)

First Group BusesService 54 Buses of Somerset (First Group) continues to operate Service 54 through Langport and past the site. Service 54 runs between Taunton and Yeovil via Somerton so links Langport with Taunton, Somerton and Yeovil (Mondays to Saturdays but not Sundays). Connections are available at Taunton and Yeovil for a wide range of destinations and Somerton for Buses of Somerset Service 77 to Glastonbury, Street and Wells (for Bristol). Service 54 runs approximately hourly during the day until early evening.

Firsts Service 55 that replaced Webberbus 38 has now also been WITHDRAWN leaving Service 54 as the only option towards Somerton, Wells and Bristol. In order to get to Bristol, a change of bus is now necessary in Somerton (to Service 77) and then again in Street or Wells to Service 376.

For current timetables, please visit the First Bus website at www.firstgroup.com Select "Somerset" from the drop-down list of choices under "Areas we serve". It is also possible to receive bus times by text message. This text service will give you the next 3 buses due at the Kelways stop. For buses to Taunton, text sotatpwt to 84268 and for buses to Yeovil and Wells, text sotatpwp to 84268.

Services 54 and 55 stop on the main road close to the Old Kelways development outside the pub.

Hatch Green CoachesService 16 (operated by Hatch Green Coaches) links Langport with Othery, Westonzoyland and Bridgwater (including Bridgwater College).
Connections are available at Bridgwater for a wide range of destinations including Burnham, Highbridge, Weston-Super-Mare and the West Somerset Coast (Williton).

Service 16 operates Mondays to Saturdays but not on Sundays approximately every two hours during the day and early evening.
